Sessions is a long-term photographic project that explores intimacy within the realms of unconventional and extreme sexual practices. Its aim is to convey to the viewer a form of closeness that is different from the ordinary—often taboo, and therefore largely unfamiliar. The photographer takes the role of an absolute observer, never intervening in the unfolding moment. What emerges is an intimate testimony that portrays the dynamics of spontaneous or prearranged sessions between diverse pairs or groups of participants. The project is ongoing and will eventually culminate in a comprehensive publication.
